Our Services
The Indoor Environmental Professionals at EnviroProz are a specialized group that provide Indoor Environmental Consultation, Testing, and On-site Investigations. Our Sample analysis follows analytical methods recommended by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), and/or other professional organizations.
The EnviroProz 5 Step IAQ Solution Process
- Step 1 – Initial Inspection and Building Survey
- Step 2 – Mold Testing, Sampling & Investigation
- Step 3 – Mold Remediation Monitoring & Management
- Step 4 – Post-Remediation Verification (Clearance Testing)
- Step 5 - Indoor Environmental Control / Maintenance
Step 1: Initial Inspection and Building Survey
Step 1 Building survey is a non-invasive physical survey of all accessible areas in order to identify potential bioaerosol, mold and moisture problems. Mold is microscopic and the growth often occurs unseen. If there is visible mold there could potentially be millions of colony forming units present .We are trained and certified to gather, analyze and interpet data using state-of-the-art tools and methods which may include:
- Information and Data Gathering
- A Full Visual Inspection of Accessible Areas
- Laser Particle Scanners
- Thermal Scanning and Infrared Technology
- Building Material Moisture Detection
- Protimeter Readings (RH, Dew, Temp)
- IAQ Initial Assesment (Physical)
In Step 1 of the investigative process we develop a mold testing strategy. Utilizing the latest technologies and years of professional experience we pinpoint the source and determine sampling methods with a practical and cost effective approach.
Step 2 : Mold Testing, Sampling & Investigation
In step 2 of the process we further investigate potential areas of concern revealed during the Step 1 Survey, evaluate the extent of the mold and/ or IAQ problem. Based on this information, sampling is taken to determine qualitative values, to detect and quantify bioaerosol presence, to identify bioaerosol release from sources, to assess human exposure to biological agents, and to monitor the effectiveness of control measures.
Our laboratories are accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
Step 3: Mold Remediation Monitoring & Management
Mold remediation is the removal of the mold growth and the restoration of the environment to a normal condition. Repairing the moisture source or cause is absolutely necessary to maintain normal conditions. We do not perform mold remediation or make repairs, there is a strong conflict of interest were a company provides both services. Our consulting services do include:
- Developing a written Scope of Work
- Project Planning, Coordination and Proposal Review
- Monitoring and Documentation of Remediation Project
We recommend professional standards and protocol for the remediation project in our initial evaluation report.
Step 4 : Post-Remediation Verification & Clearance Testing
The success of a remediation project is based on following parameters:
- Visual inspections of remediated areas
- Analysis of air testing/sampling
- Analysis of surface mold testing/sampling.
- Acceptable moisture levels .
A visual inspection will only be acceptable based on the following:
- No sign of any fungal growth and/or water damage on all surfaces
- No visible dust on surfaces.
An analysis of the air sampling should confirm:
- Acceptable normal quantitative values
- Acceptable normal qualitative values
Both viable samples as well as non-viable (spore trap air samples and tape lifts) may be collected during clearance testing. This decision should be determined based on time and cost limitations. If contaminated conditions persist, as determined through the clearance inspection and the sample analysis, the area(s) must be re-cleaned and re-tested until a condition 1 (Normal fungal ecology) has been established.
Upon completion and clearance of the project , a Clearance report is issued to our client confirming the absence of elevated moisture levels, visible mold growth and determining acceptable levels of spore activity in the areas where the remediation project was performed.
Step 5 : Indoor Environmental Control / Maintenance
The purpose of the Step 5 Assessment is to design and implement a long term strategy using control, capture and elimination methods to maintain healthy, normal conditions within the affected environment. Annual service/ monitoring of IAQ and HVAC systems, Dehumidification and Air Purification units are areas that are addressed in Step 5. Call us for more information on these services.
Other IAQ Services
Our 2 Phase Process for Commercial, Offices, Multi-Unit Residences
Phase I - A walk through audit of the building follows a meeting with key business personnel. All registered health complaints are evaluated in strict confidence. A report is provided outlining general findings.
Phase II - A more in depth analysis includes air and surface samples evaluated for suspected contaminants and environmental imbalances within the building.
Specialized instrumentation is used to evaluate building environments and conditions. EnviroProz has a unique capability of providing the diagnostics, laboratory analysis and interpretation, scope of work and post-remediation evaluation to ensure good indoor air quality is maintained.
A detailed report is provided outlining field data, test methods, general discussion of environmental testing parameters, an environmental summary including identification & concentration of contaminants, conclusions, recommendations, photographs, and a glossary.
